If you have been hired for data compilation and collation by any small company you can choose from any of the low-end software available in the market. This kind of software is not very specific and will help you in getting other work done as well. When you start working with bigger clients it will be better to shift to the expensive but high precision software. Once you have the help of accountancy software it will be easier for you to compile large amount of data in a proper way.

The only other important thing is to be responsible. As a Virtual Assistant you will be working from home but do not allow this factor to make you casual about your assignments. Also remember that you have to maintain privacy of your clients. Make sure that the data do not fall into wrong hands.
